About us

We built what we were missing.

Journary turns a trip’s photographs into a story the whole family can read, share and hold in their hands.

Why we started

Our trips stayed on our phones.

We are two parents who travel a lot with our children. After every trip we had hundreds of photos, and a grandmother, a few aunts and a crowd of friends who wanted to see them. It nearly always ended the same way: a handful of pictures in a group chat, the rest left on the phone.

We wanted an easy way to share a trip as a proper story, and to print it as a book when it was worth keeping. Nothing we found did both without a weekend of sorting and layout. So we built it.

Hundreds of photos from one trip are hard to manage. That is exactly where we believe technology can bring people closer together.

Who we want to help

Everyone who wants a trip to live on.

01

Families who travel

You come home with a full camera roll and no time to sort it. Journary does the heavy lifting for you.

02

The people back home

Grandparents, cousins and friends who want to come along afterwards, on their phone or in a printed book on the coffee table.

03

Friends who travel together

Everyone’s photos in one place, and a story you all recognise yourselves in.

Who we are

Parents first. Technologists for a long time.

We have spent many years building technology and enterprise software for large companies: the kind that has to work every day and take good care of other people’s data. We brought that experience home. Journary should be as easy to use as taking a holiday snap, and as dependable as the systems we have built for others.

  • Your photos are yours

We never sell your photographs or anything read from them, and you can delete everything whenever you like.

    How we handle your photos
  • Simple before clever

You drop the photos in. Nothing after that should need a manual.

  • Made to last

The same story on a phone today and as a printed book on the shelf in twenty years.

Your family is going to love this.

Start with one trip. Getting started is free.
